Come the fall Hamilton Councillors are expected to take a “stand and be counted” vote on LRT.
When that happens Ward 7’s Donna Skelly says she will be opposed.
Skelly says while she can’t see the upside to the project, it doesn’t mean she’s opposed to mass transit.
She says Hamilton is one of the communities that is tied to spending the billion dollars on mass transit by the province, but says Hamilton council could have spent it on building an enviable bus service.
Skelly says she believes in rapid transit, but LRT doesn’t get that transit into areas that currently have no service at all.
