The music we grew up listening to often becomes the soundtrack of our lifetime.
Sure the hip adult (no pun intended) always adds to their collection of tastes but nothing chills to the bone like hearing one of your favourite classics.
The great thing about music is it lasts forever, allowing us to travel back in time to that particular place, that particular situation to recapture that moment.
The music doesn’t die, but we do.
And we have no way of knowing when.
So when word broke of Gord Downies aggressive brain cancer it was as if the soundtrack to our life had been put on pause.
All of a sudden everyone’s Tragically Hip moment came rushing back.
Music should move us.
The Tragically Hip moved a nation.
And now lucky fans have been given the chance to say thank you.
That rarely happens…
