A man is set to launch a civil suit against the Hamilton Police Service and a retired cop.
Darren Mork tells the CBC he was arrested in 2012 during a drug raid at his Hamilton home.
But the 41 year old Hamilton cop involved in the arrest was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice after trying get a source to plant a gun at Mork’s home.
Robert Hansen resigned from the police service earlier this month was sentenced to five years in prison for the criminal code charges and he was suspended without pay by the police service.
He is appealing the conviction and the sentence.
The dollar amount in the civil suit has not been revealed.
