Hamilton Police will not take any further action against a disgraced detective.
A Police Services Act hearing into former Detective Constable Robert Hansen has been stayed.
Tuesday’s decision comes about a month after Hansen resigned from the force after he was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice for trying to get a source to plant a gun at the home of a suspect.
The 41 year old Hansen is appealing last month’s conviction, which came with a five year prison sentence.
The Police Services Act hearing will only reopen is Hansen joins a police force in Ontario within the next five years.
