The so-called “pig trial” is taking a break.
After two days of testimony, which included hearing from the woman charged with criminal mischief in the case, the trial will resumed October 3.
Anita Krajnc of Toronto says she didn’t do anything wrong when she gave water to a pig that was being trucked to a pork processing plant last summer.
The 49-year-old has said pigs are “sentient beings that deserve personhood” and should not be treated as property or “slabs of meat.”
If found guilty, Kranjc faces a $5,000 fine or six months in jail.
However she believes she will be acquitted.
