All government offices are closed on this Labour Day, as are Hamilton’s rec centres, pools, libraries and museums.
Most grocery stores, banks, beer and liquor stores are also closed today.
There is no garbage collection or mail delivery.
And the HSR, DARTS and GO Transit are operating on holiday schedules.

The annual Labour Day parade begins at 10:30 a.m on York Blvd. between Dundurn and Queen.
It will travel south on Queen, east on Main, north on Bay, and west on York Blvd. to Dundurn Park.
The following streets will be closed between 9:30 am and 12:30 am:
-York Boulevard between Dundurn and Bay
-Bay Street between Main and Cannon
-Queen Street between York Blvd. and Main
-Cannon Street between Bay and Queen
-Main Street between Queen and Bay
-King Street between Queen and MacNab
HSR buses will be allowed to proceed on Main eastbound as far as the intersection at Queen Street.
