Canadians detained abroad has been the subject of a “sidebar” discussion by our Prime Minister at the G20 in China.
The plight of Burlington teacher Neil Bantleman was the subject of one such meeting by Justin Trudeau.
He brought up the controversial trial and imprisonment of the teacher in Indonesia with that country’s leaders.
He’s also raised the issue of two Turkish Canadian men who have been detained in Turkey after the failed coup in that country in July.
However, there’s been no word on what response was given by either of those countries.
