Ford and Mazda are recalling millions of vehicles for different reasons.
Ford Motor Co. is adding about 1.5 million cars, SUVs and vans to a North American recall to fix door latches.
The company says the doors could pop open when the vehicle is in operation and dealers will fix the part at no cost to the customer.
233-thousand of the 2.4-million vehicles being recalled in Canada, the rest are in the United States and Mexico.
The affected vehicles are:
2013-15 Ford Escape and Ford C-MAX
2012-15 Ford Focus
2015 Ford Mustang and Lincoln MKC
2014-16 Ford Transit Connect
Mazda is recalling 2.2 million cars and SUVs worldwide due to a corrosion issue that could cause the rear hatch to fall on people.
183-thousand vehicles are covered under the recall in Canada.
Those models are:
Customers will be notified this month or in October when they should bring their vehicles in for repair.
The automaker has reported no accidents or injuries caused by the problem.
