Wesley Urban Ministries is taking time to recognize those in its housing and homelessness program with a special gala dinner tomorrow night.
The five course, chef prepared meal is intended to honour those taking steps to create positive change in their life.
Resource Development Manager, Andrea Buttars says research shows that Hamilton and the many organizations within it have been working hard to make that possible.
“We’ve had a thirty-five per cent drop in chronic homelessness in 2014 to 2015.”
“I think part of that is, we as well as other organizations really get to know the people who are experiencing homelessness” she adds.
100 participants from Wesley’s housing and homelessness program have been invited to the Gala event.
All funds raised will be used to cover the dinner and contribute to Wesley services that housed 92 chronically homeless individuals last year with a 91 per cent retention rate.
