What are the Blue Jays chances of making the playoffs?
I’m sure that some of you are thinking Toronto’s chances are pretty good while others are not as optimistic.
With 10 games left in the season the Bluebirds are in a dog fight to make the post-season for the second year in a row.
They Jays are 5 games behind the AL East leading Red Sox, but they hold a 1 game lead on Baltimore for the top wild card spot.
The Tigers, Astros, Yankees and Mariners are also in the wild card hunt making it a six team sprint to the finish line.
Here’s the good news, Toronto controls its own destiny.
They open a four game series tomorrow night against the Yankees at home, host Baltimore for three, before closing out the regular season in Boston.
That final series could be meaningless if the smokin’ hot Red Sox clinch the division.
Toronto has also played the Yanks and O’s well this year, which is another check mark.
I don’t see the Jays winning the East pennant, I think that ship has sailed.
But I do think that they have more than enough in the tank to round third and score a wild card spot.
