Dealing with death is a process.
Many people cope by going through stages of denial, anger and acceptance.
Coming to grips with three deaths in the sports world yesterday was certainly difficult.
First, we learned of the tragic death of Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez.
The 24-year-old Cuban was killed when a boat he and two friends were in crashed into a jetty, or pier, off Miami Beach.
Later on we heard that golfing legend Arnold Palmer had passed away.
The 87-year-old, known as “The King” won 62 PGA Tour titles and 7 majors and was credited with bringing golf out of the country club and to the general public.
He took the game to the common man and blazed a trail for all golfers that came after him.
Lastly, the shocking death of Stampeders defensive back Mylan Hicks.
The 23-year-old Detroit native was shot and killed outside a nightclub in Calgary in another senseless act involving a firearm.
All I can say it that life is precious, so hug someone in your family, share a smile with a friend today, or say hello to a stranger.
