Another major contribution has been announced towards construction of the new Joseph Brant Hospital.
The Paletta Family has announced that it will match community donations, dollar for dollar, up to a total of five million dollars.
Angelo Paletta notes that if their matching contribution tops out at 10 million dollars, it would put the “Our New Era” campaign at the 60 million dollar goal.
He’s optimistic that will happen noting that the Burlington community is “very generous”, adding that “we’re all going to benefit” when the redevelopment is finished.
Paletta also stresses that this is the largely donation in the family’s history and will ensure “the best facility the community can have”.
Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation President Anissa Hilborn notes that the new patient tower is on schedule to open next fall, after which the focus will shift to upgrading and modernizing the existing hospital.
Among other things, the new tower will house a new emergency room and intensive care unit, new operating rooms and an expanded cancer care program.
