A city councillor is pledging to keep the pressure on the province to deal with congestion along the QEW and 403.
Ancaster Councillor Lloyd Ferguson made the commitment as politicians discussed a report from public works staff.
That report stresses that there’s no point widening the LINC and Red Hill Valley Parkway, until congestion is dealt with at the exit points.
Ward 4’s Sam Merulla agrees that it would amount to spending money for the sake of “optics”, if the province doesn’t also address the QEW and 403 “pinch points”.
The city issued a similar request three years ago and Ferguson notes that they basically received a thank you for your letter in response. Still, he says someone needs to speak for motorists who are “hitting a wall every morning”.
