Hamilton City Council is being urged to tread carefully when it comes to LRT.
Area Liberal MPP Ted McMeekin reminding Council that the billion dollars from Queen’s Park IS specific for Light Rail Transit and backing away from that plan means going back to the drawing board.
McMeekin says there’s already a memorandum of understanding, plans for an environmental assessment and work is in the project management stage; so, it’s a bit late in the game for back tracking.
McMeekin says there’s a lesson to be learned from what happened in Brampton.
That council flip flopped and it lost provincial funding.
