The union for HSR drivers is pushing for on board security cameras again after the latest assault on a bus driver.
It happened just before noon on Wednesday.
The city report says a passenger became upset at not being let off the “B” Line at an unscheduled stop near Queenston and Nash Road.
The driver suffered a cut upper lip from the punch.
No arrest has been made.
Council set aside 1.7 million dollars for security cameras for the entire fleet in the 2016 capital budget.
Amalgamated Transit Union Local 107 President Eric Tuck says the cameras are vital to safety and to the prosecution of those who commit assault.
He adds he wishes they’d move on getting the cameras installed.
