The Ontario SPCA is investigating the crash this week outside a Burlington pork processing plant in which 42 pigs were killed.
It’s asking for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
A truck carrying 180 pigs rolled at Appleby Line and Harvester Road just outside the Fearman’s pork plant at about 7 o’clock Wednesday morning.
The SPCA is investigating after getting a number of calls and hasn’t made a decision yet about any possible charges.
That decision could be weeks away.
PETA has sent a letter to Burlington’s director of transportation to approve erecting a 1.5-metre-tall “tombstone memorial” at the crash scene for the 42 pigs that died.
In the meantime, Halton police have not yet determined why the transport rolled.
