A new study puts Hamilton in the middle of the pack when it comes to the best city to be a woman in Canada.
The study by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives looks at the gaps in gender access to economic security, personal security, education, health, and positions of leadership in the country’s 25 largest cities.
Hamilton is in the middle of the pack, in 13th place, just behind Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo.
St. Catharines is in 19th place.
Victoria gets the top ranking because of the number of women in politics.
It has a female mayor and its the only city in the study to have more women than men on its council.
Windsor is ranked last due to its large gap in female leadership and the highest percentage of women living in poverty, compared to men.
