A Juror from the Tori Stafford Trial will be appealing a ruling that has turned down her bid for help from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.
Tori Stafford was the eight year old girl kidnapped, sexually assaulted and murdered in 2009.
The juror is seeking help in dealing with the trauma of the evidence including time off of work and therapy.
The Board ruled her problems were too far removed from the crime itself.
Hamilton Criminal Lawyer Jeff Manishen says not all trials are created equal, particularly for jurors.
He suggests it may be time for a study of the impact of difficult trials on jurors.
The ruling will be before the Ontario Court of Appeal November 8th.
