A new partnership has been formed to help aspiring entrepreneurs in Hamilton.
YWCA Hamilton and FirstOntario Credit Union have launched a program called “1st Biz” that will take your ideas and help turn them into a sustainable business.
Aspiring entrepreneurs will participate in a 10 to 15 week training course through the YWCA and will learn how to start a business, what to expect, and how to market it.
“1st Biz” will also offer loans and grants of up to 3-thousand dollars and it will include training and mentoring.
FirstOntario Credit Union’s Mary De Sousa says the biggest stumbling block for entrepreneurs who don’t have a lot of money is knowledge, and the perseverance to get their business up and running.
