A Hamilton mountain councillor is still seeking answers to some LRT questions, this time in a letter to Ontario’s Transportation Minister.
A copy of the letter is posted to Terry Whitehead’s website in which he seeks “clarity” from Steven Del Duca on a number of questions.
For starters, the Ward 8 Councillor is again asking if the billion dollars given to the city by the province must be used for the planned LRT line or whether the city can use the money “for what council deems proper for the city’s transit needs”.
He says clarification is needed due to recent comments by Premier Kathleen Wynne and local M-P-P Ted McMeekin.
Whitehead also seeks the province’s position on deviations to the current proposal and whether the city would be on the hook if construction costs go over $1 billion dollars.
