The Hamilton Police Services Board is ready to accept public feedback on it’s proposed street check policy.
A draft of the six page document is on the police website at hamiltonpolice.on.ca.
The public will be able to provide thoughts on the policy at the next Police Services Board meeting on November 17.
The draft policy says the collection of information from individuals in our community “shall not be based on racial/biased profiling.”
The new policy will take effect January 1.
