Every Halloween I do my best to decorate the castle Thompson for the kids in the ‘hood.
Like Christmas, every year the display seems to get more and more elaborate and takes longer to set up and tear down.
This past Sunday we started the process, a little bit more will be added each day, up until the scary night, when final touch ups will be applied.
It sounds like I’m doing make up for Donald Trump on debate night, doesn’t it?
I was thinking of scaling back this year but my kids wanted no part of that.
They’re all in when it comes to making the mess, but are less excited when it’s time to clean up.
I had to use the pre Halloween candy as a bribe.
This year we wanted to add a ‘scary clown’ element to the display but worried it may drive away more trick or treaters than it attracts.
However, the kids pointed out, that may mean more candy left for them.
I’m simply worried someone might call the cops on us, and me (and my clown face) will end up in hand cuffs!
I’m Scott Thompson.
