One of the first charities I got involved with when I started back at CHML over ten years ago was Living Rock Ministries.
What impressed me about Living Rock was, it’s about creating partnerships rather than giving handouts.
This was evident when I was broadcasting from the very first Soupfest many years ago at Liuna Station.
This was more than an event organized by Living Rock, this was an event being run by the youth.
The youth were in charge and owned the event, they took pride in the fact it was theirs.
Living Rock is teaching dedication and commitment to one’s self.
It is those skills that are helping them to contribute to their own lives and then help others.
Kudos to Al and Karen Craig for giving youth a second chance in our city.
It was an honour to be the MC and their 30th anniversary gala.
Another great organization that benefits when you make a donation to the CHML Children’s Fund.
I’m Scott Thompson.
