A preferred concept has emerged following the release of three design options for a 32 hectare lakefront property in Niagara Region.
Town of Lincoln CAO Mike Kirkopoulos says that design calls for a complete community at the former Prudhommes Landing.
He says that will include low, medium and high-rise residential development, commercial, parks and natural areas.
Kirkopoulos adds that some form of public access to the waterfront has also been identified as a priority.
Up to 15 hundred residential units are expected as Prudhommes, the site of a former amusement park alongside the Q.E.W. near Jordan Harbour, is redeveloped over the next 3-to-5 years.
Kirkopoulos anticipates a balanced development that takes key features from places like Burlington, Oakville, Port Credit and Port Dalhousie and “amalgamating them into something that fits this community”.
