Oh, to be a top flight, world class footballer.
It’s really no different than a cream of the crop pro athlete in North America.
Come to think of it, the difference is they don’t have to go through the rigours of getting smashed into the boards… or crushed by a 300 pound man.
Look at the list of highest paid athletes of 2016, according to Forbes, and you’ll see that the top two are soccer superstars… Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Joining that list, just behind those two magicians on the pitch, is Gareth Bale who has just signed a contract extension with Spanish soccer powerhouse Real Madrid.
The three year extension is worth 166-million dollars and will pay the Welsh forward 22-million dollars a season.
He’ll make 346-thousand pounds, a week.
Let me put that into perspective.
Every week, Gareth Dale can buy a Ferrari or a Bentley, or whatever super car he wants, and still have some money left over.
And that’s every week.
The common man can’t even comprehend what his bank account looks like.
I think I’ll buy my son a new pair of soccer shoes for Christmas.
