It’s an invitation to “Be More Than a Bystander.”
A campaign has been launched by Interval House of Hamilton.
It hopes people will break the silence surrounding violence against women and children by providing practical tools, about how to be more than a bystander and how to communicate that violence and abuse is not acceptable.
A recent study showed the total cost of violence against women in Canada for health care, criminal justice, social services, and lost wages and productivity has been calculated at 9.36 billion dollars per year.
To mark the 30th anniversary of Interval House, a gala will be held November 24 at Michelangelo’s on Upper Ottawa Street in Hamilton.
