Charges against a local pastor have been dropped.
Peter Rigo was charged last year with sexual assault and indecent exposure dating back to 2006 and 2007.
The Crown withdrew the charges in July after the 51-year-old leader of the One Community Church entered into a peace bond.
He has promised to stay away from the female church member who contacted police, keep the peace, and not possess any weapons.
Rigo’s lawyer says agreeing to a peace bond does not mean there is an admission of guilt.
The Hamilton Spectator reports the church was the subject of a “W Five” documentary in 2006 where some parents said the church was a cult that had stolen their children.
The church was also at the centre of a kidnapping case where a Milton couple was accused of abducting their adult daughter, who they believed had been brainwashed.
Charges against the couple were stayed in 2009.
