The hike in hydro rates is getting at least part of the blame for an increase in demand at the Neighbour to Neighbour food bank.
Family Services Director Krista D’Aoust says it may also explain a decline in donations.
She tells the Spectator food bank usage is up by about 37 per cent since the beginning of the summer.

D’Aoust says based on experienced at least part of the upswing is due to the hike in hydro bills.
