The Tiger-Cats and Eskimos open the CFL playoffs Sunday afternoon when they meet in the East Semifinal at Tim Hortons Field.
After the game, join The 5th Quarter on CHML’s Twitter and Facebook.
Hamilton and Edmonton have only met in the playoffs twice before, in the 1980 and ’86 Grey Cups, with each team winning once.
The two teams have also split their last five season series, including this year.
The Cats have hosted the cross-over playoff game just once, in 2009, when they lost 34-27 to B.C.
In order for the Tiger-Cats to advance to the East Final in Ottawa next Sunday they must find a way to win at home where they have lost their last four games.
The defending champion Eskimos are trying to become the first team to defend their Grey Cup title since Montreal did it in 2009 and 2010.
Although the Esks have not won back-to-back titles since winning an unprecedented five consecutive championships from 1978 to ’82.
