I remember when I did my first talk radio show on CHML.
I can’t remember the year but it was in the 90’s when I was working at sister station, then Y95.
I bugged the then CHML program director to let me try, as I guess I didn’t feel I was getting to talk enough on a music station.
He let me try the 7pm slot after my shift at Y.
You quickly learn it is a lot harder than it seems and to quote one of the many legends who have sat in this chair, “It’s like sweating blood”!
I remember that night a producer who had been with the station for many years said to me, if you want to get the phones going, talk about cats?
I looked at him like a retriever searching for ball.
By the end of the show the phone lines were open and we were talking about the same subject Hamilton city council is debating this week, 20 years later.
Hey, what happened to that City of Hamilton sign???
I’m Scott Thompson.
Thursday on The Scott Thompson Show!
Why is reaction to Trump win so divisive?
