The Christmas Season has officially begun.
Al least it has for us at CHML.
Last night was the Realtors Association of Hamilton and Burlington’s 28th annual Realtors Kids Auction.
To us it signals the beginning of the fund raising drive for the CHML Christmas Tree of Hope Campaign.
To date they have raised over $940,000.00 and with last lights festivities it’s sure to top $1million this year.
This is the 40th year of the CHML Children’s Fund that has donated over $5.2 million to children’s charities in the greater Hamilton area.
This helps the 24% of kids under 14 who live in poverty in Hamilton.
The 20,000 families who accessed a food bank, 17% of which are 2 and under.
These are ongoing challenges that have to be met every day.
Help us, help the kids by getting involved with any of our events leading up Christmas.
And we’ll see you at the lighting of the giant CHML Christmas Tree of Hope December 2nd at City Hall this year!
I’m Scott Thompson.
