A Hamilton man is facing child exploitation charges after allegedly communicating with minors in Saskatchewan.
The Hamilton Spectator is reporting Hamilton Police’s Internet child exploitation unit picked up an investigation launched by Saskatchewan police into a person using social media applications under the names “Whoami30000,” “Major Domo” and “remylee1981” to chat with young people.
Police say the devices used were linked to a Hamilton address.
Members of the child exploitation and technological crime units, alongside uniformed patrol, carried out a search warrant at a Hamilton home on November 16 and seized electronic devices.
A forensic exam of the electronics is ongoing.
35-year-old Robert Sowell is facing multiple charges including luring a child under 16 years old, making sexually explicit material available to a child, possessing child pornography and three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
Police believe there may be more victims.
