During the recent American Presidential election campaign, both Donald Trump and his running mate Mike Pence, continually lambasted Hillary Clinton for her reluctance to release e mails from her time as Secretary of State.
Sadly, most people’s opinion of the Clinton e mail scenario was based on their political bent, but the Trump team and their media cheerleaders were relentless in their condemnation of the very idea of concealing or deleting e mails by Clinton or any government official.
It was all about transparency , they said.
Well now the shoe is on the other foot.
Vice President Elect Pence made headlines last week for applying to have his e mails off limits to media scrutiny, ironically using the same argument that Clinton used.
And now, Pence and his lawyers are back in court to block the media from accessing his e mails from his time as Indiana Governor, arguing that journalists have no right to access such material.
Through it all, the alt-right media and bloggers who attacked Clinton for her stance on e mails, stay silent while their guy, Mike Pence uses the same tactics to hide from journalistic scrutiny.
The acrid stench of hypocrisy is overwhelming .
