I’ve seen the outrage on social media about the plea bargain that essentially resulted in Christina Noudga serving only one day for her role in the heinous murder of Tim Bosma and the resulting cover up.
I understand the anger, but we need some perspective .
What Dellen Millard and Mark Smitch did to Tim Bosma is something that will haunt the Bosma family and this community for all time.
We may never know how much Christina Noudga knew about what Millard and his crew were up to with their illegal activities and there is no evidence to suggest that she knew that Millard and Smitch had brutally murdered Tim Bosma on that fateful night.
There’s every reason to look skeptically at Noudga’s testimony from the previous trial, and her actions regarding some key evidence raises some serious questions.
But Crown Attorneys would have to show criminal intent on her part and that might prove to be a difficult task.
A three week trial would have exposed the Bosma family to once again re-live the gruesome details of Tim’s death and we may well have ended up with the same result.
The verdict may not satisfy those who demand justice, but it was likely the right thing to do.
