The Hamilton Bulldogs started their 7-game home stand on a sour note, dropping a 3-2 decision to the North Bay Battalion.
It was a slow start to the game, but the Battalion struck first, scoring on a power-play to take a 1-nothing lead to the dressing room.
North bay scored 2 goals 50 seconds apart to give them a 3-0 lead, but the dogs were out just yet. Captain Justin Lemcke – with the help of Michel Cramarossa and Adam Laishram – ripped home a shot to cut the North Bay lead to 3-1 at the end of the second.
Mackenzie Entwistle brought Hamilton to within one, getting enough of the puck to slip it past Battalion goalie Brent Moran in a goal mouth scramble.
The Bulldogs laid on the pressure, but it wasn’t enough to grab the win.
With the loss, Hamilton’s season record drops to 12-9-3-0 while their home record dips to 8-7.
