Most parents would dread the thought of a police officer bringing their kid home under some sort of unruly situation.
When I was a kid, we were more concerned what our parent’s would do to us after the cop left, then the actual police encounter.
So what would you do if police showed up on your door step with your 11 year old kid, and your minivan?
That’s what happened after a boy took the keys, while parents slept, and hit the 400 with the intention of acting out Grand Theft Auto.
Eventually the police were able to coral the young adrenalin junkie with (luckily) no damage or death.
Now the questions start…
And what do you do when your 11 year old has led police on a high speed chase in the family van?
Why is an 11 year old watching a game designed for adults?
How does a child at this age not know right from wrong, let alone the danger of such a situation?
If this isn’t a red flag, I’m not sure what is?
I’m Scott Thompson.
