It's Super Bowl!

“7 days of hype before 3 hours of football” is the headline in the Washington Post.
This weekend is the grand daddy of all sport and entertainment events, the Super Bowl.
Mathew Broderick doing Ferris Buler commercials for Honda, surveys asking which quarterback would you rather have sex with, it’s got Americana written all over it.
On the quarterback you’d rather have sex with? I think the half time guest has already had both, at least once, maybe at the same time.
Speaking of Madonna, when Elton John was asked if he had any advice for her when it came to playing this type of gig, he said, ‘make sure you can lip sink really well’.
Madonna also said, “There will be no wardrobe malfunction!” at halftime. Some may have said ‘Damn!!’ 20 years ago but it might be more fun if Betty White did it now?

So I walk into the CHML newsroom yesterday and before the door even swings shut Ted Michaels is waving a copy of the Hamilton Spectator in my face.
As I fumble to see what he’s trying to show me I realize it is a series of photos taken at the big Chicago Blue Jeans and Bling thing at Carmen’s Monday in support of Good Shepherd.
Without my glasses I struggle to see what he’s showing me but as I focus I say, “Hey Ted nice shot, who’s the bald guy beside you?”
As my gums are flapping I realize the bald guy is me.
Now I’m not sure what is worse. That I appear balder under the spot lights than I really am or it’s all irrelevant because clearly I can see either.
That’s bald, blind, and let’s not forget deaf in one ear. Not that that’s ...

With a vote of 9-2 Milton council voted Monday in favour of bringing the Pan Am velodrome to their town.
“What does Milton know that Hamilton doesn’t?” I asked councilor Mike Cluett.
“Milton delivers” was his response. “When we set our minds to something, we don’t need 18 months (or 4 years); we can do it in two months.”
That’s the message he is delivering to other municipalities competing for business.
The sad part is for us they aren’t contributing anymore than Hamilton was offering.
The only problem was Hamilton couldn’t attract any private investment interest or come up with any creative ways to raise the rest of the money.
Just like they couldn’t when it came to a new Pam Am stadium, with equal blame to the Ticats.
That is an issue that must be addressed sooner than later.
