A heavy downpour had people running for cover in the southwest last night. The storm affected the communities of Woodbine, Evergreen, Braeside, and Midnapore. Some of the problems included flooding in basements, sewers backing up as well as well as window-wells filling up with water and seeping into basements. The fire department was also faced with man hole covers being lifted off and trees covering roadways.
However, Calgary police and fire say no serious injuries were reported.
