Ground crews and aircraft fighting a forest fire near an oil sands project in northeast Alberta are making some progress.
Alberta wildfire officials say the blaze near Suncor's Fire Bag project has now been classified as being held. The 330-square kilometre fire had been out of control. The flames were sparked by a lightning strike on Saturday.
Francesca Klingle, an Alberta Wildfire Information officer, says the flames continue to burn away from the Suncor site.
Fire officials are keeping a close eye on the long range forecast which is calling for an extended period of hot, sunny weather.
