Red Deer streets flood during storm

Mother Nature isn't on the best terms with the city of Red Deer right now. A summer storm rolled thought the city and crews are still cleaning up the mess.

Flooding left many sitting in water, according to Sgt Jim Moran.

He tells iNews880 city crews got right to work at moving the water out of the streets and in to the sewers.

"In the downtown core, on our mainstreets 47th, 48th, 49th and Gaetz southbound... city crews (were) out there trying to open up the drains," explains Moran.

Moran says many drivers on the road were confined to their vehicles as water started pooling in the streets.

Moran says he hasn't heard of any major damage yet. (twd, kdr)
