OPSEU workers are planning a rally tomorrow at 10 am(Saturday February 25th)at Ontario Place to protest the move by the provincial government to shut their doors.
They'll unveil 2 twenty foot banners calling on the public to "Save Ontario Place"
They say the closure is premature and a waste of taxpayers' money as the government recently invested $10 million dollars in upgrades, and Ontario Place was ``already turning the corner when the government pulled the rug out from under it.''
Attendance rose 89 per cent from the year prior and revenues increased upwards of 59 per cent while revenues at the Cinesphere increased as much as 80 per cent.
They hope to stay open during the revitalization so that 70 full-time jobs and 600 students' jobs could be saved.
