A father and son have been charged in connection with the brutal murder of a teenaged girl in the community of Armstrong last Hallowe'en.

26-year-old Matthew Stephen Foerster of Cherryville BC is charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Taylor Van Diest  was found lying on railway tracks and later died from her injuries.

Foerster was arrested at an Ontario motel under an assumed name.

His father, 58 year old Stephen Roy Foerster has been charged with obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact to murder.

Corporal Dan Moskaluk says the investigation is ongoing.

"......There may somebody who is acquainted to Matthew Foerster who was actually with him the night of Taylor's murder."

Matthew Foerster has also been charged in connection with an attack on a Kelowna woman in 2005 and an assault during a home invasion in 2004.
