In October 2004, was elected to City Council, representing Ward 2, the downtown Hamilton ward.

Tiger-Cats and Argonauts play-by-play broadcaster for 20 seasons, beginning in 1981.
Member of the football reporters of Canada Hall of Fame.
Paul Harris fellow, Hamilton Mountain Rotary Citizen of the Year.
Finalist, Hamilton Citizen of the Year.
Queen's Jubilee medal winner, 2003.
Sertoma Club Laura Secord award for preserving Hamilton history.
