Man arrested in stolen SUV case
An Oshweken man is facing a long list of charges after a wild afternoon in Oakville. Halton police say it started when a GMC Yukon Denali was stolen from a business complex on Winston Park Drive yesterday afternoon. It drove away with two other stolen SUV's, a Cadillac Escalade and a Chevy Tahoe. A nearby police officer spotted the stolen vehicles and followed them along the QEW to Third Line. That's when the Cadillac ran a red light and crashed into a Ford Escape. Two people in the Ford were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The suspect in the Cadillac fled on foot, but was found by the Canine Unit about an hour later, hiding under a car in a nearby parking lot. 21-year-old Eric Anthony Thomas is charged with theft over 5-thousand dollars, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Police are still looking for the stolen GMC Yukon Denali and Chevy Tahoe.

Cody's uncle Cody, mother Danette will be boarding a flight to Canada early next week. The 19-year-old LeCompte has been trapped at a Cuban resort for the last 13 weeks as police investigated a car crash. The following is an excerpt from CHML talk show host Roy Green's blog, www.roygreenshow.com. None of this would have happened had it not been for the dedicated efforts of thousands of Corus radio network listeners who tirelessly sent emails and faxes and made phone calls to their members of parliament, as well as the Prime Minister's Office. Danette said, "without all of the people putting pressure on the government we would have been here for a year and I know that. I am overwhelmed by so many people who pitched in and cared even though you didn't know Cody and Danette LeCompte. Today has seen that caring ...
