    Pedestrian killed in Burlington
    Ken Mann
    10/26/2009

There's been a deadly accident to start the week on the streets of Burlington.

A pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a transport truck on Appleby Line, between Mainway and Upper Middle Road, at about 9 o'clock on Monday morning.

That portion of Appleby Line was closed for much of the day for the police investigation.

The male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been identified.
Halton Regional Police add that charges are not expected.   They have determined that the man appeared to step into the path of the truck deliberately, leaving the driver with little time to react.
