Canada Day celebrations turned tragic for a man in Niagara Falls.
Police were called to the Welland River shortly after 6:30 yesterday evening after a man was seen struggling to swim in the water.
Police say fatigue set in and the man went below the water's surface.
The deceased man was pulled from the water a short time later by police divers.
Investigators say the 27-year-old man was from the Toronto area and had attended Canada Day celebrations in the Falls.
Police say foul play is not suspected.
