A Hamilton scrap yard, that was the focus of a story claiming it was operating without proper Environment Ministry credentials, in fact, has all the proper documentation.
Posner Processing has applied to the City to expand its Beach Road operation.
When the issue came up at committee, city staff claimed that while the company has a business license, it didn't have an Environment Ministry Certificate of Approval.
That document is required by every business that discharges pollutants and disposes of waste.
However, Aaron Posner says the company has had a waste disposal certificate since 2000.
Should the company be granted permission to expand, it will have to reapply to the ministry for a certificate saying Posner Processing complies with noise and dust emission limits.
