A pair of Olympians have been recognized at City Hall.
Hamilton politicians paid tribute to the efforts of marathoner Reid Coolsaet and basketball player Shona Thorburn prior to the latest meeting of the General Issues Committee.
As Thorburn is currently continuing her basketball career in France --- her mother Audrey Nicholson accepted the recognition on her behalf. She says London was a special experience for both athletes and their parents.
Coolsaet pointed out to elected officials that Hamilton's network of soft-surfaced trails make this a great city for runners.
Thorburn and Coolsaet are both graduates of Westdale.
