The Ontario Electoral Boundary Commission is proposing five new federal ridings for Hamilton.
But opponents who attended a special public hearing yesterday want the three-member commission to rethink its plan.
The group had first proposed two new ridings in August, but created an additional three after public meetings in October.
Critics are upset because the proposal divides Hamilton Mountain and separates urban Ancaster from Dundas and west Hamilton.
Federal electoral districts are readjusted after each 10-year census to reflect changes and movements in Canada's population.
