Police search turns up small bone fragments
Jay McQueen
11/26/2012

Some findings in last week's search for human remains have been sent for DNA analysis.

Hamilton Police spent Thursday and friday searching a field in Stoney Creek and say they found small bone fragments.

At this point, investigators aren't sure whether they are human or animal.

They say nothing else of significance was found.

The investigation into the death of Shirley Treadwell continues.

It's believed she's been dead since 2009, but authorities were not aware of that until this past July.

Her niece, 46-year-old Melinda Evans, was charged in September with indignity to human remains and several fraud related offences.
